Our Launch Is Coming Soon

I guess you could say that no news is good news as it relates to this blog.

The point of it was for our launch team to keep a running journal of how things progressed from moving to Bowling Green to the launch of Real Life Church.

We’ve been so busy for so long that most of our team probably doesn’t even remember it.

Don’t miss our Launch on February 5, 2012.

What is a church planters real motive?

Hello all.

Throughout the various training sessions with our church planting organization (ARC),the many great brain-storming sessions,  and countless conversations with prospective launch team members the question of what our real reason for being here has come up more times than is worth counting.

Service Auditing (Do This)

While we use this Blog to fulfill various needs not the least of which is to capture the moment for future church planters, it’s also becoming easy to see the need for practical resource ideas. Our intent in making this blog is to provide a log of our progress so that others can take this journey with us even if it’s years from now.

As we stumble upon valuable ideas and resources, we want to share them as well as the stories and experiences we gain along the way.
One such resource you cannot afford to miss is service auditing.
I’m convinced you’ll never understand the awesome opportunity it is to visit other churches until you cannot do it anymore.
While it can be difficult to travel the distance required or deal with the hassle of a new church every week, the benefits are well worth it.
You are able to see things you could have never dreamed were possible as well as things you differently want to avoid.

I personally changed a lot of ideas after visiting other places.
It’s important to instill in your team that you are NOT going to criticize or belittle a church or ministry. The idea is to experience different styles of ministry and to glean the positive.

We ask for each Launch Team Member to give us one main positive take-away from the experience. Then, figure out how it could possibly fit into what we are trying to create.

Your mission and vision do not change. However the way you go about creating that culture SHOULD change as needed.

So for all future planters who will read this, do not over look the need to audit church services. Go all the way too. Fill out visitors packets, etc.
You will benefit more than regret it.

Pictures from Real Life 411

We had our first public interest meeting Thursday night.  Notes from the night are soon to come, but for now here are just a few pictures of the room.  Once the meeting started, the picture taking ended.  Praise the Lord for 17 in attendance including the 5 core team members!

It Starts Now

This week is a HUGE week for Real Life Church! Thursday night we are having our first public interest meeting. All week long our team has been passing out flyers and invite cards and spreading the word about RLC. In the 411 meeting, we will answer the big question everyone is asking, “Why plant a new church in Bowling Green?” and we will share the vision God has placed in our hearts for south central Kentucky.
Saturday we will be at the Fountain Square selling gourmet apples and meeting people in the community. Sunday night will have a Launch Team meeting for those who want to be a part of Real Life Church. We are so excited about our week of “firsts”. It seems like we have already had a lifetime of experiences, but in truth, we are only beginning. We are so excited and humbled that God has chosen us to be part of His plan for Bowling Green!
